Safety

Gibraltar Projects constantly strives to provide a safe construction site. The safety of our employees, fellow tradesmen, owners, consultants and the public is our highest priority. Our safety program applies to all site personnel. Workers will not be required, or knowingly allowed, to work in an unsafe manner or environment, or in violation of any safety rule, regulation or procedure.

Together we can achieve an accident-free safety record. To do this, we require a commitment to safety and diligence from of all our company personnel, as well as our subcontractors.

We have a comprehensive corporate health and safety program and a Certificate of Recognition (COR) from the Alberta Construction Safety Association. Gibraltar Projects remains in good standing in the COR and Workers’ Compensation Board (WCB) Partnership programs. A copy of our Health and Safety Program manual is available upon request.

Our safety program includes:

  • A comprehensive safety manual, worker handbooks, and standardized forms for reporting and recording documentation.

  • Standards for:

    • Safety inspections (formal and ongoing)

    • Hazard assessments (new project and ongoing updates)

    • Incident investigations and recommendations

    • Toolbox safety meetings and communications

    • Employee and subcontractor safety orientations

    • Safe work practices and safe job procedures

    • Formally reviewing plans and procedures for critical tasks

    • Safety statistics management (current summary follows)

    • Modified Work and disability management (should circumstances warrant)

Annual audits for the COR program are conducted by our on-staff auditor and safety manager. Interim audits are conducted periodically on projects that are considered to have a high hazard risk.

Kasa Consulting Ltd coordinates our safety program. Kasa reports directly to the company principals. They work in conjunction with all levels of project management, superintendents and employees, to administer and implement the program.
